This beautiful home was built in 1903 by Francis and King Dan (K. Dan) Thompson. K. Dan was a salesman for the Heinz Company; Francis was not only a very talented artist, but had a remarkable memory and literary background.
The house has had four owners between the Thompson’s and the current innkeeper, Sue Groffie. Coincidentally, Sue Groffie’s grandmother and mother shared the name “Frances Thomson!” The house has undergone three restorations; the most recent taking place in 2008 in preparation to become the Virginia Rose Inn, a bed & breakfast.
