This beautiful McKinney home was built in 1903 by Francis and King Dan (K. Dan) Thompson. K. Dan was a salesman for the Heinz Company; Francis was not only a very talented artist, but had a remarkable memory and literary background.

Inn Policies
- Advanced reservations are required; we are unable to accept walk-ins.
- The Virginia Rose Inn is a smoke-free inn. Candles and open flames not permitted.
- Children: While we adore children, out of respect for all our guests, only children 12 and over are welcome.
- Pets: Regretfully, we can not accommodate pets.
- Payment: we accept VI, MC or Discover. Reservations require a deposit equal to 1 night or 50% of total stay (whichever is higher) to hold your room. There is a $50 security fee deposit required for guests paying cash; this is refundable upon check-out. However, advance payment is still required to hold your room. Regretfully, we do not accept checks.
- Check-in is from 3 to 7pm. Check-out is at 11am.
- Breakfast: a full breakfast is served promptly at 9am in the dining room. Please tell us about your special medical dietary requests when you make your reservation. Continental breakfast is available upon prior request.
- Pricing is based on double occupancy. $35 per person charge for more than two per room. **There is a $35 fee for use of second bed if room is only occupied by two people**
- Cancellations: 14 day notice by phone is required. Special events, holidays and full house rentals require 30 day notice. $35 processing fee per room. Rooms cancelled within 14 days will be responsible for full length of stay unless we are able to rebook room. Processing fee will still be added. This policy also applies to "No shows" and reduction in the number of guests. We do NOT continue to hold rooms for guests who do not arrive on date scheduled. Guests who do not arrive on date scheduled and do not call are still responsible for full length of stay.
- Damages: guests are responsible for any damages, replacement, additional cleaning or loss caused by guest smoking or other abuse to our guest rooms, without further authorization.
